Shift Operations Manager – South Wales - £Comp
The Role
Coordinate daily activities of employees manufacturing parts or products by performing the following duties:
- Ability to analyse orders and forecasts ensuring adequate staffing levels
- Continuous Improvement - developing and implementing measures
- Improve quality and cost by developing capital equipment justifications
- Ability to communicate with staff and customers ensuring plant objectives are met
- Implement Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency
- Ability to coach and develop staff
- Ensure both plant and manufacturing productivity is achieved against targets
Qualifications
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering - minimum 4 years progressive engineering experience in manufacturing.
- Institute of Leadership and Management Level 3 (ILM) – Preferable
- Project Management Software
- Manufacturing Software
Experience
- 5+ years’ experience as a Shift Manager/Production Manager within a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding and experience of lean production and 5S
- 5+ years People Management Experience
- Coaching and Mentoring Experience
